The Interim Joint Committee on Agriculture recognized the efforts of former Kentucky Venues President and CEO David Beck and heard critical reports from new leadership during their recent meeting at the Kentucky State Fair.

The committee is co-chaired by First District State Senator Jason Howell and Ninth District State Representative Myron Dossett. Representative Dossett says the committee always meets during the fair to stress agriculture’s importance in Kentucky.

Representative James Tipton read a legislative citation that the Interim Joint Committee on Agriculture later approved, recognizing David Beck for his work on behalf of agriculture in Kentucky.

Representative Dossett said it was important for the committee to recognize Beck’s work.

The committee heard an update from Kentucky Venues Interim President and CEO Mike Berry and new Kentucky State Fair Board Chairman Ray Perry during their meeting about this year’s fair attendance and the search for a new President and CEO for Kentucky
