Hopkinsville FFA presented numerous awards and certificates to its members at the annual banquet, Tuesday May 13.
The banquet showcased a recap of everything the chapter has done over the school year. Awards were given to those who competed in various competitions including the Pennyrile Region speaking day, Murray State field day, and the University of Kentucky field day.
Certificates were awarded to students who passed the end of the year test for plant science, animal science, or beef quality assurance training certifications. Hopkinsville FFA Advisor Leah Thomas talked about why it is important to showcase the students’ achievements.
As the end of the school year comes to a close, the FFA chapter is gearing up for a summer of fun. The current students will have one more opportunity in blue jackets at this year’s Kentucky FFA State Convention in June.
Mollie Goode serves as the Hopkinsville FFA President. Her advisors say she has gone above and beyond in her academic and agriculture pursuits. Goode is running for a state office and will find out the results at the state convention. She says what FFA has meant for her.
Goode will continue her agriculture journey at Murray State University, majoring in agriculture business. While her career plans are uncertain, she knows she wants to be in agriculture.
Hopkinsville FFA will say goodbye to its seniors next week, but is ready to impact another generation of leaders.
