The agriculture community in Western Kentucky and this region of the country is mourning the loss of Roeder Auction Company founder and longtime John Deere dealer Delbert Roeder, who died earlier this week.

Roeder was well-respected in the agriculture community for his knowledge and experience of tractors, combines, and agriculture equipment. Roeder told Your Ag Edge during a National Agriculture Week visit in March that he has been involved in the agriculture equipment industry since he was a child.

Roeder and his family were the owners and operators of Roeder Implement Company that was started by his father and uncle Edwin and Albert Roeder until they sold the dealership to Hutson in 2014.

He was an expert in the agriculture equipment industry when it came to used equipment.

Roeder says he and his family have been blessed by farming and agriculture and enjoy giving back.

Roeder Implement and Delbert Roeder were previously recognized as the Agribusiness of the Year by the Trigg County Agriculture Committee.

Funeral arrangements for Delbert Roeder will be held Saturday, September 13, at 11:00 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hopkinsville.
