Hopkinsville Elevator General Manager Eston Glover and Board Chairman John Young reiterated the importance of value-added agriculture and rail transportation to the agriculture economy and the cooperative during Tuesday’s annual meeting at The Silo Event Center.

Glover noted during his report what access to rail and river transportation has meant to farmers in western and central Kentucky and northern Tennessee.

Young said Commonwealth Agri Energy is a great example of how value is being added to farm crops in Kentucky and northern Tennessee that pass through the cooperative.

click to download audioEston Glover announced that although 2024-25 was not as good as some previous years, the elevator still marketed more than 70-million 333 bushels of grain and sold more than 412 million 353 thousand dollars worth of grain during the past fiscal year. Glover says the bottom line resulted in more than $33 million dollars coming back to cooperative members.

click to download audioAgri-Chem General Manager David Buchanon and Commonwealth Agri Energy General Manager Mick Henderson also presented annual reports and farmers-owners received checks for their portion of the patronage payments.

And board members Phillip Garnett, Jeff Davis, and Randy Riley were each re-elected to three-year terms on the board of directors.
