Caldwell County FFA drove up to Lexington for the Kentucky FFA State Convention along with multiple other counties in Kentucky. They brought 10 members, many who competed in various competitions.
Taylor Wynn had a vital role at the convention serving on the state officer Nominating Committee. The committee reviewed the state officer candidates before electing the 2024-2025 State Officer Team.
Another member, Daniel Laurent, received quite the accomplishment when he won the State Swine Placement Proficiency. Laurent also placed second in the State Swine Entrepreneurship Proficiency. Along with him, Meleah Greenfield, placed third in her proficiency in Forestry.
Five members competed in a variety of contests. These included:
-Hannah Teutsch: Dairy Public Speaking
-Whitleigh Carter: Goat Public Speaking
-Evan Cotton: Swine Public Speaking
-Daniel Laurent: Extemporaneous Public speaking
-Harper Ritchey: American Institute of Cooperatives
Six members received the highest award in the Kentucky FFA, the State Degree. To receive this degree students had to have a successful Supervised Agricultural Experience with the required amount of profit or hours worked. The Caldwell County FFA members who received the award were Shaye Goddard, Emma Koscho, Isaac Lane, Keegan Miller, Jordan Ortt, and Taylor Wynn
The chapter came back from the convention with a State Gold Emblem, recognizing them as a Top 15 chapter within the state.
