University of Kentucky livestock economist Dr. Kenny Burdine says in spite of some challenges the beef cattle industry is wrapping up 2021 on a positive note. Burdine says prospects for 2022 are looking good, but farmers will be challenged with increased feed costs driven by higher corn prices.
