The Kentucky Farm Bureau Country Ham Auction set a record, with the charitable sale of the grand champion country ham from Broadbent B & B Foods.

The hams sold for a record $4.8 million dollars with auctioneer Will Gregory announcing the winning bid after two bidders tied at $2.4 million dollars each.

Broadbent B & B Foods owner Ronnie Drennan says they were proud of the ham that won, noting they almost didn’t bring the ham.

click to download audioThe breakfast attracted a crowd of more than 1,300 politicians, Farm Bureau members, and agriculture and business leaders from around the state. The breakfast was the 57th annual fundraiser for Kentucky Farm Bureau.
