Long-term Extension Agent Jay Stone, who currently serves as the Lyon County Agriculture and Natural Resources agent, recently was honored at the week-long National Association of County Agriculture Agents Conference with the Distinguished Service award.
In order to receive this award, Stone had to have over ten years of service in a county agent position among other requirements. In total, he has been in extension for over twenty-eight years.
Another qualifying aspect of this award for Stone was his committment to all things agriculture, including through his collaborative podcast “Kentucky Ag Matters” where he, along with fellow hosts Vicki Shadrick and David Fourqurean, talk with a variety of guests to provide agriculture information.
In addition to the Distinguished Service award, Stone said the podcast was recognized as fourth in its category.
