FFA members often spend their summers sharpening skills and expanding projects through Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs). For Addie Robertson, a standout from Todd Central FFA, that means putting in long hours on her family’s operation while managing her own cattle and bookkeeping.

Robertson Farms focuses on row crops, but Addie has carved out her own path in beef cattle. She started with two steers and now manages four Angus steers that are raised for freezer beef. She grinds feed herself, taking animals from 600–700 pounds up to 1,300–1,400 pounds.

She started out showing cattle, but decided she ultimately liked raising them for freezer beef instead.

Her SAE doesn’t stop at livestock. Addie has taken on major responsibilities in the farm’s business operations, including bookkeeping. Since her freshman year, she has handled bills, written checks, tracked crop yields for insurance, created invoices, and kept up with expenses and income. She also works with grain carts and helps with fieldwork.

A future in agribusiness seems like a natural fit. Addie says she plans to pursue a career in bookkeeping and agricultural business after high school, building on the strong foundation she’s developed through FFA and her family farm.
