It’s a fresh start the Trigg County High School Greenhouse. After two years of construction on the new CTC building and greenhouse, the doors are now open for the plant sale.

Agriculture teacher Karen Nolcox has been confined to a classroom and swapped greenhouse classes for business classes. With the new greenhouse finally complete, she has been back in it with her students. Nolcox talks about the hands-on-projects and the roles her greenhouse students played in preparing for the plant sale.

The new greenhouse is bigger and better. Nolcox explains the differences.

Lucy Litchfield is hands-on in the greenhouse. As a freshman she took Intro to Greenhouse, before the construction began. Now she is a senior and finally able to take greenhouse classes again. She talks about what she has learned.

On opening day, Litchfield was the first to be seen. She was running the cash register which now accepts cards, another upgrade. Other students provided smiling faces as they helped carry plants and answer questions. Litchfields says what her favorite part of the greenhouse has been.

The greenhouse is full of green, pinks, purples, and more. They have a wide variety of plants ready to be sold. Nolcox talks about what they offer.

The TCHS Greenhouse will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30-2:45. The last day for the sale is May 22 or when supplies run out.
