The first annual Trigg County Country Ham Biscuit Eating Contest was a huge success, with two charities benefiting from donations through the event.

The contest debuted Saturday, October 14, in front of the Trigg County Justice Center at the 47th annual Trigg County Country Ham Festival. Organizer Kerry Fowler says based on the response the ham biscuit eating contest will happen again next year.

click to download audioHam biscuit-eating contestants included Cadiz Police Chief Tyler Thomas, Scott Embry, Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree eating for Special Olympics, Scott Bridges representing the Back 2 Back Foundation, Trigg County Magistrate Pat Bush, George Radford from Genesis Express, Jeff Oliver representing the Pink Ribbon Network, and Trigg County Schools Assistant Superintendent Matt Boehman representing The Way Christian Youth Center.

Fowler says he has already been contacted by possible contestants for the contest in 2024.
