At the recent Kentucky FFA State Convention held in Lexington, Trigg County’s FFA Chapter showcased their skills and talent across various categories. With 13 members in attendance, the chapter brought home several notable achievements that show their commitment to agriculture.
Clayton Litchfield, Anna Sink, and Heidi Hite earned the State Degree: the highest reward a member can receive in the Kentucky FFA. This recognition is a testament to their exemplary involvement and leadership in the FFA and agriculture. To receive this award members must have a successful Supervised Agricultural Experience and log in enough hours or money earned.
Anna Sink also scored 1st place in the Agriculture Education Proficiency category. She partnered with Trigg County 4-H to teach hands-on agriculture lessons to 4-Hers within the Horticulture, Animal Science, and Horse clubs. Sink also started and taught the LIFE Club where she taught kids leadership and career readiness skills.
The chapter also participated in individual competitions, with six members stepping up to show their expertise:
-Allyson Hargis: Creed
-Anna Sink: Extemporaneous Speaking
-Jennie Watts: Beef Public Speaking
-Landi Rogers: Dairy Public Speaking
-Chloe Adams: Swine Public Speaking
-Ethan Curling: Turf and Lawn Public Speaking
The chapter presented strong contestants this year and they will cheer on Anna Sink as her proficiency goes onto Nationals in the fall.
