Friday, August 25, the Murray State University’s Board of Regents passed a resolution to look at the feasibility of a vet school. Hutson School of Agriculture Dean, Dr. Brian Parr explains what that means and how it will affect the future of Kentucky veterinarians.

The idea for a vet school in Kentucky started 50 years ago but Parr’s goal is that this time they can get the ball rolling.

Parr also says with the severe shortage of large animal vets, a school in the state can keep more students here after they graduate.

The timeline is to have the feasibility study completed this fall and a plan to continue ready by January 1st, 2024.
